A-League 2010/11 - Week 6

Another massive week this week in the A-League. We'll have our work cut out for us yet again after knocking over a huge Multi bet last week. Both Perth and Adelaide are all even, right down to the goals for and against, at the top of the table and will both again be in the box seat to continue their early season run of results. Add to the mix the other undefeated side in Brisbane Roar facing a woeful Melbourne Victory, and this week could get very interesting for the sides left below without wins in Newcastle Jets, Gold Coast United and Sydney Football Club! It was great to see (and tip) the Melbourne Heart score their first win of the season last week, but they have a stiff game coming up against the Central Coast Mariners.

I still don't know what to make of the Heart, had greater expectations for them. After 5 weeks I feel they havn't delivered.
Central Coast should do this with ease. 2-0 to the Mariners

Heard the other day that Phoenix are 22 games unbeaten over there!! wow!
With that fact I'll go Wellington or draw at around $1.35 and maybe over 2.5 goals is worth a look.

What will the Jets give after their salary troubles.. might take a draw, 1-1

Yup, I'm expecting my boys from the Glory to step it up a notch again this week and get those 3 goals on the board. Should get the job done easy enough, but have given a fair few cheap goals away too, hence the 3-1 scoreline. I think this is the 3rd week in a row I've predicted the Glory to win by this margin, so I'm still hopeful that they will win by this margin at home.

CC Mariners will be out for blood this week too, and the Heart are missing some deep midfielders this week, so may conceed a goal or 2. I'm betting on a close game as the younger players are the one's stepping up for them at the moment. At home, the Mariners are building their own little fortress up there and have shown some great plays so far this season. They seem to be doing well under Arnold and his worldly experience.

Phoenix's home streak is awesome, and they are up against a very poor Sydney side who are down on form and confidence. They should get the win there, as long as the pitch and weather hold out.

Adelaide... what can you say, they have been in great form all year so far, and at home have re-built their fortress again. The Clean Sheet bet there is definitely one that should be looked at and considered against the jets who have a poor scoring record.

The Melb Victory game is one that I agonised over for quite a while. They have not been in form either, but could not decide if Melb could or would win or not, so settled on the 0-0 draw as Brisbane are undefeated this year with a low for and against goals tally, plus have held their nerve in front of goal all year. IF Melbourne or Brisbane do find a winner, it'll be by the 1 goal, hence my selection of the Under 1.5 goals scored.

The Multi bet I've given this week is a little shaky and obviously requires a lot of things to happen to pan out, but at $46.46, it's one that I think is worth placing a lazy $Fiver on and see what happens. The safer option however is to take all 4 outright winners this week at $15.27 (Based on the odds given above) Another chunky and very over the top option is to take the Exact scores from the Central Coast Mariners v Melbourne Heart (1-0 @ $7.00) game, and combine it with the Adelaide United v Newcastle Jets (2-0 @ $8.00) game for a $56.00 monster multi!

WOW - So close to picking the first 3 games exactly! The Phoenix did the job against Sydney today and just missed out on the Adelaide exact score as Newcastle sub Sean Rooney kicked a 90th minute goal! These results give me 3/3 so far this week, 2/3 exact scores and a poor 1/3 exotics. It wipes out the provided multi bet, and the other exact score multi mentioned in Post#5. It does however, give the straight home winners multi a fantastic chance of making it with only Perth Glory needed to win to get the $15.27/1 multi over the line. The results so far also keeps the straight 5 alive as well! Roll on Sunday games!
