Yeah thanks for the reminder there Ned
I went to the game, not a very solid performance from my boys at all, dropping marks, running over the ball, fumbling, kicking into our 50 to no one at all and just wasting opportunities.
It wasnt pretty to watch, there were some moments of brilliance that reminded me of 09, but it seems the Bullies wanted it A LOT more and had the confidence to take it out.
Ha Ha! i can't believe the saints, they've choked twice

Interesting turn of events today on the injury front.
Fisher looks like he'll be out for a significant number of weeks, while Hahn seems to be a chance of playing in rd 1.
I'd have put good money last night on it being the other way around.
Yeah, exactly.
The Hahn incident looked incredibly reminiscent of the Hird one in '02.
Player's head crashing into the knee of an oncoming player at high speed and high impact. Then the player looking really dazed with a huge shiner under the eye and blood coming from a crack in the forehead - and getting taken to hospital almosty immediately.
Mind you, Hahn didn't produce nearly the same amount of blood as Hird.
Ned, I really dont think you could call what happened in the Grand Final last year a choke, they put EVERYTHING into that game and only just come up short at the very end when it was snatched away, trust me, their faces and body language the next day at the dome said it all.
I would def say that Saturdays GF could be be considered a choke, they were just flat and slow and nothing to what they were last year, but then again, we did have a lot of younger boys playing as well.
People should get off St Kilda's backs a bit about this choking thing, although most of the time it's obviously just a wind up. Last year was far from a choke, they were unlucky to come up against a Geelong side who were never going to lose that. I think even die hard Saints fans might look back and agree with that now...the Cats just weren't going to let that side lost 2 grand finals.
But yes, the NAB Cup was a poor defeat, and I can't help but think it might be a sign of things to come (against the top sides). Don't get me wrong, I reckon they'll have another bumper year, just not to the same extent as last year...maybe something like 17-5, they will lose more games like they did this weekend imo...they have to be scarred from last years final. They put everything into it, almost went the season unbeaten and came up short, with nothing. It's a hell of a lot more than most other teams achieved - I suggest a lot of people look closer to home before banding about the choker tag.![]()

Brisbane
Gold CoastI think the Saints choke tag come from the fact they lost only 2 games for the year and led the grand final for pretty much 90% of the match, until the last 5 minutes. Saints should of won last years grand final, not geelong, end of story.
As for the NAB Cup Grand Final, it means nothing. When it all comes down to it, its basically just an overhyped practice game. Saints will be up there again this year there are no doubts, they have a chance to redeem themselves.
