Discussion of the Saints v Doggies grand final in this thread.

Odds are about right i think. Saints probably just a bit ahead of the Dogs at the moment. But cast an eye back to their preliminary final last year. The Bulldogs only lost by a goal or so and all they were missing on that night was a key forward who could kick goals. They now have filled that void with Barry Hall, so they could push St Kilda all the way in this game.

Can't see how the Saints won't win this one. They'll pick a full squad and have a very good record in pre season competitions over the years.

Will wait til later in the week to see what i'll bet on, but i think the value is certainly with st kilda.

I actually thing the Dogs might want this more. Yeah the Saints lost the granny last year after such a great season, and this would make up for it a tiny tiny bit...but the Dogs have looked very good so far - the addition of Hall is gonna make a big difference I think.

At around $2 I think it's decent value and the + on the handicap if it's available may be a good play. It's probably one to leave though in reality, and wait for the Round 1 games :p

I do see what you're saying there bagster with the Dogs, and they will wanna win this (it's going to be a cracking game I think between two sides that really want the silverware) but I honestly think the Saints will want it sooo much after losing such a close Grand Final last year.

We'll have our full squad in, which is too strong for the Doggies imo. Even at a pretty skinny $1.77, I'm going to take our boys to do it, by 20 or so points.

Well I quite enjoyed that semi final, dont really think you let us back in the game... Things will def be different this year for the doggies, I just hope they dont rely on Bazza too much.. He has let down a lot of people in the past

Dogs can definitely win, dont you worry about that. They have been on fire the whole tournament so far thanks to the heroics of Barry Hall, and Hall would love nothing more than to wipe the smiles off his old clubs face.

Don't forget st kilda won their first two matches of the tournament by a soilitary point in both, so they have been vulnverable at times. There will definitely be value to be had on the Dogs, but i think taking the line is the safe option here.
