    Movie Reviews

I know a few of us like to go to the movies a lot, so let's get some movie reviews going in here

    Green Zone
Went to watch this last night, had no idea what the premise of the film was beforehand. Matt Damon did a good job as always, but did nothing spectacular really, and nothing that no other actors in his generation couldn't have done. Kind of ended up being a poor man's Bourne sort of role in the end.

The action scenes are well shot, but are a bit over shaky at times. One thing that struck me was the realism of the whole thing, you did feel like you were out there in Iraq for a big part of the film. It was slightly one-dimensional though, the story never took any real twists and was extremely easy to follow; perhaps needed to be a bit more complex.

All in all, a decent action film but nothing to write home about. 3/5.

Watched Shutter Island last week. Wasn't quite sure what to make of the film during it, but afterwards it was a bit of a sticker, and made you think about what had gone on. DiCaprio played a blinder, and Kingsley was good as always

Need to see it again, as it's really cleverly done (couldn't believe it was a Scorsese film, not like him at all ). I'd give it 4/5 maybe even 4.5/5 on first viewing.

Saw this movie as well. I didn't like much about it, the story line was crap and it all seemed a bit pointless. However the effects were VERY good and im a big Matt Damon fan, had he not been in it i would of disliked it a lot more.

If don't like war movies though, they have never been my cup of tea. If you like war movies then it would probably be worth seeing.

Now this was a ripper of the film. I remember sitting through the film at the time thinking "what the hell is all this" and even right after i was thinking that. However on the way home i kept thinking about it and it is an insanely clever film.

Im actually hangning out to watch it again, to fit together all the missing bits you miss after the first viewing. I highly recommend going to see it, one of my fav movies so far this year.

    The Blind Side

Very good movie this. Went to watch it with my girlfriend not having a clue what it was or what it was about, but she said it was nominated for oscars and stuff. Gotta say i was extremely impressed and it was one of my favourite films for quite a long time.

It wasn't until after the film that i realised it was based on a true story. Sandra Bullock was absolutely sensational and deserved an Oscar for her performance. Id definitely recommend going to check it out if you haven't already seen it.

    4/5

I watched it on a long haul flight a while back and turned it off half way. It was just boring to be honest I think I'm going to have to watch it again though, after it took out all those oscars, there must be more to it than I saw...perhaps I was half asleep

I liked Avatar, but I didnt LOVE it, apart from all the special effects and all the 3D hype the story has been done to death, think pocahontas, Fern Gully, Dances With Wolves, The Last Samurai... White guy comes in, gets accepted into the 'tribe', falls for the Chiefs daughter and saves them from the place he came from to begin with..

Thats why it didnt win an oscar, I havent seen The Hurt Locker yet so I cant compare... But I hope it has some meat to bite into and the Oscar hasnt got to yet another undeserving movie..
